Beginning Sculpture

Session 2: March 9 - May 2 | DURATION: 7-WEEKS

This class covers non-functional ceramics and ways to use clay to create sculptures. Students create freestanding, handmade pieces using sculptural techniques, including coil building, form molding and carving and work with simple clay forms. They consider volume, weight, color, form, and texture while creating contemporary pieces. You’ll be able to choose from five types of clay, ranging from $17 – $48 per 25 lb. bag, which can be stored at the Art Center. Class payment and clay purchases will be collected on the first day of class.
